In the summer of 2004 we passed the leadership of the church we had founded twelve years earlier over to another pastor. The church did a video montage to Kathryn Scott’s version of Brian Doerksen’s song "Today". As the pictures rolled by I was amazed at all the lives that were changed especially the hundreds of people that had been baptized in our Vancouver and Port Moody ocean baptisms. That song and those pictures truly ministered to Dee and I as we stood at the crossroads of ministry. We knew whatever direction the Lord was leading, "as for our house we were serving the Lord." Since then I have become a huge Kathryn Scott fan. In fact if all you get out of this CD is a connection to go buy hers you haven’t wasted your dime. This song is one of my favorites and so we did a piano rock ballad version.

At the foot of the cross
Where grace and suffering meet
You have shown me your love
Through the judgment you received
And you’ve won my heart
And you’ve won my heart

Chorus

Now I can Trade these ashes in for beauty
And wear forgiveness like a crown
Coming to kiss the feet of mercy
I lay every burden down
I lay every burden down
At the foot of the cross

At the foot of the cross
You have given me life
Through the death you bore for me
And you’ve won my heart
And you’ve won my heart
