There was much said about new worship in my teenage years in the 70s and 80s sadly much of it negative. Thankfully most of that discussion is over and we are seeing the fruit of what God is blessing. One thing I do know beyond a shadow of doubt is that every generation needs their own song. New songs are a sign of God’s work in people’s hearts. When Jesus saves, revives and refreshes new songs flow. It’s simply the outpouring of what God is raining in. The truths are timeless but each generation must express them for their day. Being a part of the present generation of worship I look back with reverence to the songs of Luther, Crosby, Watts, Wesley and so many others, and now this day is our day. Years from now we will pass on the baton to a new generation. May we celebrate and disciple the next cohort of worship leaders and nurture their new expression. To quote my father in-law Scott Quinton "the devil would love nothing better then to shut them up". "Patient Potter" is a reminder that God is always molding new life where there has been death. Ya got to sing something new about that.
Let’s sing a new song call every nation
Let’s sing a new song in the house of love
Let’s sing a new song we’re a new creation
Let’s sing a new song of Jesus love?
You broke our chains you changed our ways
New song we sing a new life you made
Patient potter you mould us to your design
If we break than broken we shall be
The wheel turns and then we can see
The patient potter moulds us with love divine x2
Loving Jesus wash us with your blood stained hands
Loving Jesus shaping us and now we stand now we stand
