Say Your Name

I was called to my Dad’s bedside after he had a mild stroke. I was concerned that this may be his last day on earth. As he began to talk of the goodness of the Lord that he had known all his life, he shared about how the grace of God and the love of Jesus had always been faithful. He gripped my hand tightly with the hand that had been weakened by the stroke and looked intently into my eyes. He said "if this was the last day of my life it would be OK it would be alright." As I meditated on his words I decided to make them mine as well. By the way Dad fully recovered and is doing well.
If this was the last day of my life
It would be ok it would be alright
If this was the last breath that I breathe
I would say your name again
Chorus
Never a love have I ever known
That has been so complete and true
Never a sight transformed my life
Like the moment I encountered you
If this was the last thought of my life
I would thank you for forgiving
If this was the last time I could raise my hand
I would point someone to You.
Chorus
If this was the last day of my life
It has been worth all you’ve seen me through
If these were the last words that I say
I would say your name again
If these were the last words that I say
I would say your name my friend
